Just wondering if it is possible to get sound coming from all 5 speakers when playing music on the dashboard? My 5.1 works fine in games and for everything else on the 360 but i only get 2.1 when listening to music. I know it wont be true surround sound but just to be able to hear it from all the speakers.

    Thanks
    D

hmm I think when i play music throught the 360 that it comes out through all speakers - although a little quieter through the rear ones.

I'll have to check this out when I go home!

Most music is only in 2.1 i.e your standard cd bought in Golden Disks woulnt have 5.1 surround sound built in afaik

Yeah i know, most cds or music streamed to the 360 wouldnt be encoded in 5.1 im just wondering if its just some setting i need to change with my surround sound system or the 360.

No it won't be fed through all the speakers just 2.1 sound for music.

On some set ups you can "force" it 5.1 i.e it tries to figuer out what it would sound like in 5.1

Its only stereo music so itll only come out in stereo.
Some receivers though will be able to change the output, if you can, change it to Dolby Pro Logic.
It dont sound too good though.

If your a/v reciever had Dolby Pro Logic II you can make the music play through 5.1, if not then I think u only have 2.1.
