    Hi GCC,

can you have a read of the charter that is stickied at the top of this forum, and then fill us in on all details that are missing from your first post in this thread.
e.g. the typical blind levels and times for your Fri 100 freezeout.

    Thanks.

All events held in the new card room in Letterkenny are hosted by the Gold Club casino and run by the staff of the said casino. Commercial events. Tournament schedule is available in the post above. The gold club is situated in Glencar business centre in Letterkenny, Co.Donegal. Registration for all tournaments is €5 unless otherwise stated (€100 FO reg is €10). You must sign up to be a member of the Gold Club Casino to participate in all tournaments and cash games. Tournaments registration starts at 9 and the tournaments start at 10 o clock nightly. Cash games proceed after this. Tickets for nightly tournaments are bought on arrival but can if necessary be bought in advance. All tournaments are no limit hold 'em unless otherwise stated e.g. the Omaha tounament on a monday night, which was originally posted as a tuesday but since changed. All entry fees into tournaments go straight back into the prizepool i.e. there is a 100% payout in all tournaments, registration fees are all that are held back to contribute towards dealers etc..As is pretty standard in this country there are no guaranteed prize pools unless stated e.g. €200 FO being held on riday 29th december. Upon requst i will post starting chips and blind levels etc. for all nightly tounaments. A more detailed post for the €5000 gauranteed tournament on friaday 29th Dec. will follow including the full blind structure. Generally the winner of the wednesday and thursday tournaments will receive cash plus a €100 ticket to our friday FO. All dealers are experienced at dealing texas hold 'em however as the game evolves i.e. new ept rules are introduced, every effort is made to keep up to date and continually improve all our dealers. There are documented rules for tournaments and cash games. Cash game rules being posted on the wall inside casino as is standard in many casinos to help avoid confusion and ensure minimal delays. Gold Club Casino, although new to the area, prides itself on being a professionally run establishment by experienced staff who have many years experience dealing with customers etc. and therefore has an in house member of staff set aside as tournament director to ensure the smooth running of all tournaments from the free entry tournament up to the €100 FO and so on. All disputes are handled by or under te supervision of the tournament director and the floor person's decision is final. P.S. I hope this post is satisfactory and complies with rules in place for this forum, please do not hesitate to reply with any queries if not. All replies are welcome and will be answered as promptly as possible.

    Please use paragraphs

What is the rake on cash games? What will you be running, 1-2PL?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 219 ✭✭goldclubcasino

Yes paragraphs would have been a great idea actualy. The rake is a seating charge of €5 every half hour, no money is raked from the pots. The standard cash game is 1-2 pot limit however on numerous occasions when the demand is there we have opened a second round of each cash with 1-2 Omaha and 2-5 Texas, however yes the standard is 1-2 pot limit.

so that means a full table rake is €100 per hour? this is much higher than any casino i have played in before. €70 is the norm for this:mad:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 219 ✭✭goldclubcasino

Yes that rake is correct. However i think you will find that in alot of card rooms alot more than this is taken off the table per hour as rake. If you have ever played in a casino where the pot is raked you would see this. A raked pot is far more profitable for the casino and the seating charge is better value for the player and far more transparent. What card room are you comparing us with?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,404 ✭✭✭Goodluck2me

Fitzwilliam Casino, Dublin - €38 per half hour (raked from Pots)
Jackpot Casino, Dublin - €40 per half hour (raked from Pots)
Green Joker Poker, Drogeda - €40 per half hour (raked from Pots)
E.P.T , Dublin - €42 per half hour (raked frm Pots)

I have much experience in this field as i play and deal these games and this is why i feel your club doesnt compare well.

    why?

Then add the bad beat rake, then add the extra rake at the weekend when most punters are too pissed to realise the extra few quid and its basically the norm

We can guarantee that our rate does not change no matter what night of the week it is. If you are happy that your raked pots are transparent enough then good luck to you. However when i referred to a raked pot compared to a seating charge i meant a pot percentage rake which usualy turns out being the worst value of all for the customer.

played this once, and its a VERY fast tournament, half the field will literally be out in 20-40mins, not because of the structure but the standard!so its effectivly a 16K starting stack!
