thought i'd throw this out there and see if any one has had a similar experience and how they got on with it.we were due to go on a carribean cruise 2 weeks ago flying to miami via chicago.when we got to o'hare in chicago the weather was brutal, thunder and lightning/pouring down with rain. flight to miami was cancelled, tried rebooking a flight to miami with AA for the next morning but all flights were booked solid. tried online to book a flight with any airline via every east coast airport that was available but no joy. we obviously did'nt make it to miami in time for the cruise so we lost that plus AA would'nt let us collect our bags saying that they would travel to miami on the next available flight despite us not going that way. we decided to head to new york and asked AA to send the bags on to nyc,we were 3 days without our bags and had to buy clothes/toiletries in chicago because we had no bags. i have rang my travel insurer and they have given me a couple of claim forms, one for lost baggage and one for flight cancellation, was wondering if anyone else had anything similar happen and how did they find the claim procedure. if you've read this far fair play to you and thanks.
