I'm happy that you stay if you keep getting shots like that!

Thanks Fajitas, i'm here for another year anyway so may as well make the most of it. There is always plenty to shoot around at the weekends so cant complain from that perspective (but i can from all others)...that old guy didnt look too impressed when I pointed the camera at him but i think he was more interested in getting into the warmth of the bar..

Actually, why the square format if you don't mind me asking?

no real reason on that particular shot, i ran through these last night and i need to spend a bit more time at them, you can see a different crop of that shot below. For some reason the whole image didnt feel right together when i think it should..i'll have another go at it when i get a chance

Some shots are angled though, was that done on purpose? (1st, 2nd and 4th pic)
The one Fajitas pointed out is my favorite too, I think the complete pic didn't feel right because it would center your subject too much, the cropped ones look better. Keep 'em coming like this :)

None of the angled shots were on purpose Dimy, I didnt have time to get exact framing but that is one of the tricks of street candids that i am trying to work on. As for the other two shots, there was still a bit of image cropped from both sides so the old guy wouldnt necesarily be centered but as i said something just felt off..it probably was the overall balance that was overcome by cropping to the left or right of the main subject..Thanks for the comments

The cropping does look good! Was just wondering! :)

Dublin might be expensive, but I actually think it’s a great city. I'd go so far as to say I love living in Dublin. Sure, it has its pitfalls, but spend enough time in most cities and you'll probably find there are very few (if any) that don't. And as for photos, Dublin has a lot of character which lends itself to photos pretty well, as you (and we all, I guess) have shown.

Good for you Trooney, i'm the complete opposite, i moved here for the summer 8 years ago and i'm still here, i dont think its a great city and i definitely couldnt live here long term. As for character though, it has plenty of that - depressing places always do...Character is such a nice word...just like emigration
