I would like to relate something really weird and inexplicable that happened to me when I think I was in my early twenties. I was lying on my bed early in the morning and was feeling too lazy to get up. Suddenly, I sensed someone was on the other side of my bed behind my back. I tried to turn but couldn't. It's like my body had gone numb. I just lay there, frozen for almost 30 seconds. I tried very hard with my brain to get myself to move but in vain. All the while I felt an ominous presence behind me. And then I was let go. Yes, that's what it felt like. I was just let go and I looked around and no one was there. What do you think it was?

There is a non-paranormal theory of sleep paralysis which sounds like a possibility for your experience. Either that or you did experience being restrained by a spirit presence.

If it was a spirit then really it's impossible to tell why, who etc without being there but there is always a chance it was a physical experience of your mind becoming awake before your body did. An automatic emotional response to that would be to assume an outside force was inflicting this restriction on you. Hence the feeling of an ominous presence.

I've had it a couple of times but am quite sure there actually was a spirit presence holding me down.

I was wide awake just before that incident happened. And I was wide awake during the course of it. I never closed my eyes once during the experience because I couldn't. It's like I had lost all motor control. But it has only happened to me once.

The same thing happened me almost every night for about a month, i was told at the time it was brought on by stress and it was probably the sleep paralysis thing mentioned earlier. The fact that u were awake prior to this is a bit weird,
The following happened to me when i was about 20 or so,i had just gone to bed ,definitely hadn't nodded off and i felt a spirit walk in my room , i have to admit i never saw anything but i could sence the movements vividly, all of a sudden i was forced down on the bed and i know it sounds weird but it was like i was being molested , i sensed a male presence unfortunately but i couldnt move, this lasted for about 20/30 seconds and i was awake throughout the ordeal.
There is a history of paranormal etc in my family,
Has anybody heard of anything like this before?

Why do you not hear about things like this when people are sitting on the bus or in front of the tv?

Saying that I have heard of such things but they are rare cases.
