I am thinking of getting a wireless router, but know nothing about them.
How do I know if my PC is compatible?
Do I need to install a card?
    What routers are best?
Is it easy to set up?

I just set up my old laptop for wireless broadband last Friday, costed €110. €80 for the router and €30 for the card for the laptop. I got a Belkin G+ router and a Belkin G PC card (the G+ card wasn't supported by windows 98).

Why do you want to set wireless up on your PC? You'll get a faster connection by connecting it directly to your modem. I've got a 100% connection on my wireless network now and it's significantly slower than the desktop computer in the other room.

If you just have one computer that a desktop in your house don't bother getting wireless, but if you've got a desktop and/or a laptop wireless would be worthwhile.

Thanks my 2 pence worth anyway!

    Thanks for reply.

Just have a desktop, but was thinking of getting laptop as well.
Would both be slowed by going wireless?

You could, as I did, buy a wireless router, which is connected to your modem and to your pc and then get a wireless card for the laptop (although most new laptops should have one built in). There shouldn't be a noticeable slow down in download speeds.

It's fairly easy to install as well. Just make sure your laptop has more than 64mb of RAM! Mines running a little slow at the moment!

and hope the picture is helpful!
