White mould on clothes

We have one fitted wardrobe on an external wall where clothes get a fine, dryish white residue forming over a few weeks. I haven't noticed any particular dampness, and can't see the wall because the wardrobe back panel covers it.

Any idea how to get rid of this?
It was a new house less than 5 years ago.

Is it just coldness from the external wall? We get a good bit of condensation on the bedroom windows these mornings
