Fat Burners

Hi there. I would really appreciate your advice as i am a bit (a lot) clueless.

I am trying to lose about another 3 stone. I have lost just over a stone the last month and i know it is going to slow down now and that's fine.

Bit of background. At the moment i am following the herbalife diet and have done so with four weeks. Its two shakes a day (two scoops of shake stuff and one scoop protein powder in 200ml fruit juice), two pieces of fruit, and a normal dinner. Usually i have chicken, vegetables and 2 baby potatoes. I know the shakes are not ideal but it has thought me how much i have actually been eating out of sheer boredom, and now it has me eating vegetables and fish that i wouldn't eat in a fit before. I am going to come off the shakes in a little bit and maybe have brown bread for breakfast and soup for lunch etc. Also on this diet take 3 multivitamins, 3 herbal complex and 3 herbal teas a day.

Exercise wise i go to the gym four times a week. A personal trainer done out a thing for me to follow. I spend about an hour and a half minimum in the gym. 45 minutes of cardio (Cross trainer, stepper, exercise bike, rowing machine) and the rest doing the weights. From tonight i am going to go swimming about three times a week, probably on the days off.

    Now here's my question(s).

Is there any advice you can give me on what i am doing above and what i am doing wrong?

Does anyone have any experience of fat burners. In the gym he sells Xedra-Cut Super Strength? Has anyone any information on these. I have tried looking online but just keep findig sites that sell them. Are they helpful in losing the weight? Should i steer clear of them or would they be worth a shot? I know there is no miracle pill, but would there be any harm in trying them. I have asked the personal trainer guy all about them and he said they are all natural ingredients in them. Any advice greatly welcomed.

Fat burners are ok if you have no allergies or problems with the ingredients.
How much and for how many are you being charged?

    Thanks for that.

They are 50 euro for one hundred.

Did they work? What was your experience with them?

They are helpful in reducing your appetite.
They are also a good replacement for coffee in the morning, but dont take the full dose.
I did and my blood pressure shot sky high, I only took the 4 in the morning.
The full dose is 4 capsules three times a day. Far too much.

They contain caffeine so if you dont drink much coffee it will feel a bit weird at the start. Whatever you do do not take them after 4pm. No sleep will be had.

I have never drank coffee so probably get the jitters?

    These ones you take
one 3 times a day for 5 days. Followed by a 2 day break.
Two 3 times a day for 5 days. 2 day break.
Three 3 times a day for 5 days. 2 day break

Did they help you lose body fat?

I definitely think they helped, make sure you eat regularly though, they really do make you feel like not eating, and to lose the weight properly eating right is crucial.

The ones I took were also Xedra Cut. I think there are a few different types of it out there though, not sure which one I had.

Is that normal then. I thought it was me imagining things that my mouth was driving me nuts? If thats normal thats grand.

There is 250mg of Caffeine in 4 tablets, so half that. Would it be because i'm not used to caffine. Dont drink coffee, tea, coke etc?

must be the caffeine. my only bad habit is I drink too much coffee. I am continually flexing my jaw muscles. has to be the caffeine. I got great jaw muscles though!!!

Also if I over drink coffee in morning, I can get a bit jittery, but I pump in water by the gallon daily, so I reckon I piss it all out, and manage to stay hydrated.

Thank you both, put my mind and jittery body at rest!

    Another quick questions.

I work shifts so times i get to the gym are different. When i work late i go first thing in morning after i have a shake.

I don't know what to do in evenings. I go to the gym at about 7 until 8.45. I have my second shake at about 1 and then the confusion starts of when to eat my dinner. Do i eat it when i get home from work and then it would be straight to gym, or do i just have an apple and go to the gym and have dinner when i get home at 9! Ive been having it before the gym until now and wasn't sure if that's any good so thought i'd ask yer good selves. When should i have dinner, before or after gym? (dinner is meat (chicken/fish mainly, odd day red meat) and vegetables or sometimes salad and slice brown bread instead of veg).

Drink a ton of water with them, they dehydrate fast.

Hi Jon, as someone in the nutrition industry is there any fat burner that you would recommend for the following circumstances:

My goals would be to lose about 8 kilos in weight go from 93 to 85 kilo.
I am following the nutrition/excercise threads on this site, even though I have lost some weight and got fitter, my bodyfat is still too high at circa 21%.

Your advice would be most appreciated.

    Thanks

Ok can i get more advise from those of ye that know your stuff please. I have lost nothing the last week and i haven't been "cheating".

As above i have two shakes a day which add to approx 450 calories.
Then i have a normal dinner. Chicken mostly, loads of boiled vegetables, (and if not vegetables i'll have a salad), and the odd time a slice of brown bread, or 2 baby potatoes. No milk, butter, sauces etc.

I drink probably about 6 litres of water a day. And i dunno if thats too much but i'll have nothing to sip on sitting here! I dont drink anything else only two/three herbal (green) teas a day.

I also have two pieces of fruit a day. Always green apples cause i prefer them to other stuff.

I dont drink minerals. I havent ate junk, crisps, chocolate, white bread, anything fried etc in 6 weeks, and i dont miss it now so that suits, realised it was all habit and boredom while sitting at work!

Exercise wise is as follows. Im gonna put it all down and sorry for this being so long but if anyone can see my mistakes or what i should be doing instead diet and exercise wise i would really appreciate it. My personal trainer done out the cardio/weights.

    Monday - GYM
Cross trainer 20 mins / Stepper 15 mins / Exercise Bike 15 mins
Leg press, 4 sets of 20 reps / Squats, 1 set of 20 reps / Lunges, 1 set of 20 reps / Hip extension, 2 sets of 20 reps.

    Tuesday - GYM
Threadmill 20 mins / Rowing machine 15 mins / Exercise bike 10 mins
Lat pull down, 4 sets of 20 reps / 1 arm dumbell rows, 3 sets of 20 reps / Bend over rowing, 3 sets of 20 reps / Hyperextension, 3 sets of 10 reps / Abbs with roller, 5 sets of 10 reps.

    Wedneday - Day Off
    45 mins threadmill at home.
And going to start swimming as of tonight.

    Thursday - GYM
Cross trainer 20 mins / Rowing Machine 15 mins / Exercise bike 10 mins
Bench Press, 4 sets of 20 reps / Pec Dec, 3 sets of 15 reps / Tricep push down (with rope), 4 sets of 20 reps / 1 arm French press, 3 sets of 20 reps

    Friday - GYM
Exercise bike 15 mins / Cross trainer 15 mins / Threadmill 15 mins
Barbell curl, 4 sets of 15 reps / Cable curl, 3 sets of 20 reps / Front pressing, 3 sets of 15 reps / Abbs with roller, 5 sets of 10 reps.

    Saturday - Day Off
    50 mins threadmill at home.
And going to be going swimming.

    Sunday - Day Off

Some days during the week if i go to the gym in the morning i will go on the threadmill at home for 45 mins in the evening and vice versa, if i go to the gym in the evenings i will do 45 mins on threadmill in morning.

I thought i would lose 2ib this week. Now when i go to the gym i am kicking my butt. I am dead after it with sweat literally flowing out of me. I am not sitting there and not pushing myself. I haven't cheated on the diet front so i dunno where i am going wrong but i must be somewhere.

Any input welcome and i am sorry for such a long post!

It all went voom for me, about a month of absolutely nothing and then I started to notice squishy bits were not longer squishy and the round bits were flat.
I didnt actually lose much weight, but I lost a LOT of fat.

If i keep going with that would you think it will eventually work. I've lost just over a stone in the last 5 weeks so i knew it would slow down, i wasn't expecting it to stop. I thought it would still be a 1ib or 2 a week. I haven't measured inches yet, i know one of the weeks i lost only a 1ib and more inches than usual so maybe when i get the inches in the morning they might have moved.

Should i be doing more cardio when in the gym, more than 45 mins?
