    hey
a friend is sending me a mac keyboard from sweden as i dont like the new mac keyboards and i liked the G4 ones and why buy when its free

he says it is swedish layed out

http://www.syndicatepictures.com/ebay/mac_two-3.jpg is the keyboard he is sending so what i want is an up close pic of the layout of a swedish one and an irish one, now i know the irish one would be the easy one but i have looked high and low and couldnt find a swedish layout of any apple keyboards up close and other sites have led me to believe that the english apple layout is the same worldwide?

honestly i dont know but what i need is a close up of the keyboard layotu used here and a close up of the sweden layout if at all possible because i want to see how hard it would be to take some irish keys and replace the swedish ones with em or simply put stickers ontop of the swedish keys

    thanks
    sean

Is this page any good? It has the swedish keyboard layout and the irish.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_layout

I know Apple keyboards can be slightly different but I'd imagine they remain essentially true to the standard used in whatever country.

I can't say for certain but I know there is an International English layout which is perhaps what Apple uses everywhere outside the US. I'm not sure if that includes here and the UK though.

    This might be some use:

I think there are some slight variations in the English Language keyboard layouts. For example, I have a friend who bought an iBook in Australia and it doesn't have the Euro symbol on the 2 key.

suppose it would be easier if someone irish sold me one second hand and i wouldnt have to worry

if you can touchtype that wouldn't be a concern. I used a slavic keyboard but set the system layout to Irish in Montenegro and it worked fine.

It doesn't matter what letters are written on the keyboard, it's the Operating System that decides what character gets printed when you hit a certain key, through the selection of a particular keyboard layout.

In that image you linked to, the keyboard looks just like a US one, so it's already almost identical to the British/Irish layout you'll select in the OS to get access to the € symbol.

the image has the same QWERTY layout as my keyboard does nearly... Theres no need to change anything on the keyboard.

Maybe I misunderstood but I thought the pic was of the type of mac keyboard weeder wants and not the actual one his swedish friend is sending.
