Smart Telecom’s acting chief executive, Ciaran Casey, faces the threat of disqualification as a director after being heavily criticised by a High Court judge earlier this month.

Casey was found to have sworn an affidavit that contained a false statement in the company’s unsuccessful court action against ComReg.

Maybe some one with legal experience could answer.. Is this perjury? Could there be more repercussions?

No legal experience necessary: if he did lie to the court, he committed perjury. Perjury is a jailable and fineable offense; of course that's up to the judge's discretion.
