set in a village or country pub somewhere in ireland,


you have john o brien the bar owner, the man behind the o brien gathering, kind of a faltwy towers guy, on tippy toes hopeing event will go off well,

a couple of regulars in and out of the pub, are jennie and jane two hot local chicks,

then you got jimmy and jim usually bantering @ the bar

the local head of the garda, would be james an easy going guy with off the wall ideas for policeing


then you have johns wife,joan, who is all so on her tippy toes with excitement about the o brien gathering,

scene one

early one morning in johonnys pub

hey john there ia an aussie guy on the phone enquireing about the gathering, will you talk to him?

ok give me the phone hi hows the going?

good day mate how are you? let me intruduce my self, my name is johonny o brien, maybe you have heard of me, seen me in a movie, do ye have aussie soaps over there,

barman john

yea we have a lot of different soaps here,we have lifeboy i think ? ill ask the wife, myself i rarely use soap, a splash of water on the face will do me anyday,

oh but dont get me wrong i do wash my feet and the rest of myself with soap every now and then, cant be smelly in my line of work,

good lord hold on there mate, you are after taken me up wrong, im talking about televison soaps,

well he would be comeing from australia, dont know how they stand the heat there, so hot

oh dad i dont mean that kind of hot, where is my mobile i must text the girls and tell them who was on the phone to us

why are you all of your scripts based in or around a pub?

it is a good place to meet a variety of people i think, my other story the band that never were was set in a community hall, another set in a school

Once again hon, this needs a lot of tweaking. Even simple things like spelling Johnny's name correctly would make a difference to how the play reads. Also, how long is this play? Less than 30 seconds? I'm actually interested. See, pages of a play may only take up minutes on a stage or on the radio.
