    Every person has a bunch of horses that will always stick in their minds. Some are all time greats, others may have got you out of jail, and then there are others who you'd follow over a cliff.

    I had a lot of time for therealbandit and I used to, probably foolishly, back him for big races and pretty much every time he ran. He broke his pelvis last week and was put down. Not a word was said about it anywhere.

    I'll miss ya this season Bandit.

    we have lost a few so early in the season -never nice to hear a horse has passed away when u follow them thru there career u nearly feel u know them

    I never even heard about his death until I read this. Perhaps it was overshadowed by Desert Orchid.

    Sad news alright.

    Used to be a horse called Jewel Of India that I followed religiously. Got me out of jail 4 or 5 years ago around Christmas time. Had spent a fortune on pressies and drinking and payday wasn't until the 23rd of January.

    Stuck 15 e/w on the Jewel at 14/1 and he duly obliged. I'll forever be indebted to him. Think I won on him about 4 times in total. Was a flat horse and then became a jumper if my memory serves me correctly.

    im from a newer era... barracouda is the horse tht i always got my money back on. retired now of course but what a horse
