QUESTION: Duty Free Electronics?

Anybody know what the prices of electrical goods are like in Dublin Airport (flying within EU)?

Am off to Barcelona tomorrow (thanx to a Bargain Alert on flights) and my camera has just died. No time to buy online so am wondering if I'm best to pick one up in Dublin today or wait till the airport tomorrow morning. (Budget about €300). Buying one in Barca is an option but I've no idea about prices there.

    Any thoughts appreciated!

Your flying within the EU so ... It ain't duty free, unless you convince someone flying outside the EU to buy it for you. Expect the prices to be pretty much the same as the high street :(

Give them a call and check the prices
Just called 'em. It appears their prices are without VAT no matter where you fly to. Strange then how the price of the range I asked about seem to be slightly higher than the shops...

Isnt it that you can claim the tax back when you get home ?

Mayhaps - the girl I spoke to didn't mention it.
She was busy giving me the tax-free prices that were slightly higher than the tax-added ones in the shops. ;)

anytime i've been in dublin airport duty free it's been a good bit more expensive than normal city centre prices for electronics, actually for most things now i come to think of it. Anyhow my 2 cent is that you'd probably be better off picking up your camera in Barcelona, generally things are cheaper in spain than here. And if you're bringing booze or fags back buy them in the supermarket instead of the airport 'duty free' shops. it's much cheaper
