This is my first attempt at a HDR , it was done from a rather flat looking raw file taken last week , just before sunset in Achill.

Thanks to Zillah , Digitalage , Freeand... and Jmcl over in Digital Darkroom for links and tips

    C & C welcome please ,

    Hi mathias,

Snap! :) I took a similar shot from practically the same position a few months ago. I think you've done a better job of capturing it, I love the light and colour of the hill in the foreground and also the aquamarine of the water. Good job with the HDR - I must try and get back up there some time and try a few HDRs myself!

Hey mathias, as an image it looks good. It could probably do with a bit better contrast especially in the back but i still really like it. I remember being on that beach a year or two ago but i didnt know the name of it. We just happened upon there when we were travelling around Achill - brings back memories though, its a lovely area. Anyway, very good first attempt - it doesnt look nearly as fake as most out there. I still need to get around to processing mine from the Cliffs of Moher..

    Hi mathias,

    Good first attempt.

I agree that the background image needs more contrast, there's lots of detail in those clouds that you want to make sing. I'd probably a bit of saturation too to balance it with the foreground
