    Just to let you know that temporary Balbriggan Library situated in the Beat Centre wil be closing this Friday at 5pm.

    The final books will then be transferred down to the new building and the finishing touches made.

    It's hoped that the new building will be open on the 27th of November or the 4th of December at the latest.

    The new building is gorgeous btw so be sure to check it out. :)

    Looking forward to seeing the new library - another welcome addition to the town. Hopefully that awful looking Tesco place will be replaced with something more aesthetically pleasing in the near future!

    A nicer bigger newer Tescos;)

    Going in there is like time travelling back about 30 years.

    Well there is planning going back and forward to build 3 stories extra on the top and make it a mix residential and commercial.

    A new Tesco's is rumoured for the a green field site.

    Library will be open as normal this Wednesday at 10am.

    The hours of the library have been extended to 56 hours a week;
    Monday - Thursday: 10am to 8:30pm
    Friday & Saturday: 10am to 5pm

    Hope to see you all there at some point.

    Great to hear the new library is opening - have been checking it out every couple of weeks and was beginning to think it would never open! :) (Yes - I can be a little impatient at times!!)
    Is there a book club or reading group in the library? Or any plans to start one?

    Yep there is a monthly bookclub held on a Saturday (not 100% sure of the date) but if you drop in and ask for Aisling she can give you the info as she runs the meeting.

    The Carnegie library with the massive extension that has been added to it will be open tomorrow. The library is now 4 times the size it used to be and the window seat is gone...so yeah, I'd call at least part of it new. :)
