Charity Wish lists

So having been "nominated" Charity Liasion this year I have gotten in contact with the following groups this morning:

    Temple Street
    Crumlin Children's Hospital
    Barnardos in Cork
    Debra Ireland
    Children's Sunshine Home
    Jack and Jill Foundation

Debra, Crumlin and the CSH have to get back to me by phone still, the others are all emailing me lists.

This is what I've gotten from Temple Street.
I have spoken with the hospitals Playroom, Primary School, and 3 different Wards and the response has been pretty much the same. All treat or are available to children ages 6 months up to 16 years old. This makes a very wide range of toys that can be accepted and used by all the children. The main request from everyone was the following:

    - Playstation Games
    - DVDs – Dora the Explorer, Bob the Builder, Superman, …
    - Board games
    - Puzzles
    - Art and Crafts kits – boys and girls
    - Any other activities that help pass the time and keep them busy

The Playroom in particular would be looking for kits where the children can make stuff. Maybe jewellery for girls or models to construct for boys. There is also a school within St. Frances Clinic which would like the following from the Smyths Catalogue:

    - Kid Knex – any number
    - Kid Knex – 425 piece tub
    - Foam Bowling
    - My First Scrabble – Dora scrabble
    - Multi-Mix Copier

I'll post up the other responses I get as they come in.

tSubh, are Barretstown on the list for this year? They were very helpful in providing a list last year when I contacted them.

DeV gave me the list above and didn't mention them but he did say there was probably room for someone else.

    Need to check with him.

tSubh - when they say Playstation games do they mean the original or the PS2? I have an old Playstation that's in pwo but just gathering dust at home. I'd be happy to pass this on to SSF with all the games I have for it too.

This is the wish list from the Sunshine Children's Home. They've given us a list of their prefered suppliers as they have to be extrememly careful about what stuff goes to the kids because of risk of infection. They would be very grateful for anything we can get off this list.

Here's what I got from Barnardos
We have Santa booked to come on the 20th (Wednesday) so we ask for the presents to be delivered unwrapped by Monday the 18th, and we can then wrap them as we match kids to the best toys considering their interests/personality. Books, arts and crafts stuff, and creative toys are always good, but whatever you get is great! How can we get the presents to cork??? Give me a ring so I know you’ve received this!!!! Thank you so much!

    An addendum from Debra Ireland
I may be a bit late sending this through but just in case thought I would
send anyway. I have a few other items to add to our list if possible:

An MP3 player - one of our patients has just had this stolen from his
    hospital room.
Some CD's - a selection of various artists
Activity Toys - multi function shaper sorter and activity unit, bricks,
    farmyard.

One final request I have is for young girl who cannot cycle an ordinary bike
so we would like to see if it would be possible to get a specialist bike for
    her:
It is a PE Trike 24, Powatryke Tric
