    My mate booked his Wii in Smyths in Limerick yesterday and he said to me that he was told that the he has €225 left to pay after his deposit which would Indicate that they are pricing it at €250 and not the €269 as listed on their website, Also he said that he was told that he was not certain to get one on 1st day release but he should be ok If he arrives early.

    It better not be first come first served on the day because I pre booked my wii 6 weeks ago and I have to work that day so I hope they don't just give it to the first person that walsk in the shop regardless of when they pre booked it!!!

    Thats generally the way it works, if you have a pre-order, its generally first come first served. I booked mine in September, but I know they stopped taking pre-orders in the store I booked mine in ages ago.

    Anyone else book in Game in the Square?

    Smyths in the Childers Road Retail Park in Limerick are open until 11pm these days. I'd be surprised if they didn't open an hour extra that Thursday night to sell at midnight. I'll be checking that out closer to the day.

    I'd say first come first served. If you're really worried I would either call in the day before or ring in that morning and basically plead with them and they might hold one aside for you (as long as there isn't a HUGE demand on them, ie much more than their actual pre-order list).

    I pre-ordered mine all the way back on September 20th, but just to be safe, I'll probably try hit Smyth's Jervis street for 9am that morning. Thankfully I'll have finished college by then, yay!

    Can you not get some slacker/college friend to pick it up for you, in exchange for letting him play with it until you get off work?
    I'm with abelard, going to show up for 9, and burn the place to the ground if they're sold out by the time I get in.
    And seeing as it's become obligitory in every thread;
    C'mon. C'mon....

    My work christmas party is on that day so hope there is a midnight opening otherwise I'll only get about 2 hours of Zelda in before I have to head back into town to waste my Zelda time.

    Ah well I might see if the store stays open till 12 on the thursday night and pick mine up then. I might ring the store on the week of release and find out. Its seems like a waste of time to prebook and pay a deposit if your not gurennteed one at launch. Just as long as i get it for Chrimbo won't get to play it till then anyway as its a gift from my girlfriend :cool:

    I'm working nights that week, 7:30pm-7:30am, Wed 6th-Saturday 9th so my play time will be severely limited!!! :( But when I finish my Thursday shift at 7:30am on Friday morning, I'm just gonna head straight to the square, should be there 8ish and just wait about then till they open, pacing back and forward in front of the doors muttering something to myself...

    Beefcake... beefcake!!!

    Oh damn thats not right... ;) :rolleyes:
