Hey guys, I just bought a Creative Zen Sleek Photo MP3 player and i'm having trouble installing the driver. After plugging it in, windows detects the new hardware and goes thru the installation process the driver. At the end it tells me:
    Cannot install this Hardware.
There was a problem installing this hardware.
    MTP Device
An error occured during the installation of the device.
The required section was not found in the INF.

There are only two INF files, one located in the root and one within Walmart/Files. I manually directed the installation wizard to both directories but the end result for both is the same. Nothing Happens.

Just wondering if anyone has encountered a similar problem or if there is a fix around for this?

    Cheers
    (winxpsp2)

Download the latest drivers from www.creative.com.

By any chance are you trying to install win/me drivers on xp, or the other way around. Try the new drivers from the site. Should work for you then.

I remember when installing mine I had to install all drivers and software first, then plug the player in. It then done the driver installation by itself.

yeah sounds like you gotta install the software and drivers first before pluggin the player in. most usb stuff is installed this way. the software should prompt you when to connect the device.....

Try installing it in safe mode, Just to see if there is a difference.

Also try updating your motherboard drivers. Including the usb host controllers drivers.

 i know this is a media player problem but it is more of a pc problem as it's a driver related problem for hardware.

i tried installing in safe mode anti but the problem is still there

The player is MTP (micorosft transfer protocol), meaning it doesn't come with drivers.
Windows XP should detect it automatically. If your system is looking for a driver for the MTP device, then it is looking for a Microsoft driver which should already be on your system,( provided you have at least service pack 1).
Try to install the driver via Windows device manager.
Don't connect to the net (if prompted to do so) and then choose to install the driver automatically.
