I was originally going for the 12-24 until I saw the 10-20. So, in your honest opion - which one would you go for and why??

*ding ding ding* fight over. 10-20 wins :D

I'd get the 12-24 if I was a posh knob with a full frame dslr. Otherwise the 10-20 is perfection.

    The 10-20 definitely.

To be honest, the price difference between both is so small in the overall picture!!

    You're considering upgrading to a 5D though?

    Get the 12-24!

ah well if youre going to get a 5D then it's not a question of what you'll get. The 10-20 is designed for crop sensor dslr's. There have been reports of dodgy 12-24's around so if you do get that one, be vigilant!

I know what you mean but it would be nice to have a selection of lenses that I could use on either camera

EDIT: am I right in thinking that the new lenses I am getting wont be compatible with the 5D or maybe the odd one or two.

Does anyone know of a lens compatibility chart or similar that I can look at?
