Xbox Live Connection Questions

I have an NTL cable modem. I want to connect my Xbox to my PC and then have an internet connection from my PC while as the same time be able to connect to Xbox live. Without having to get a wireless router and then a wireless adaptor for the Xbox, what are my options? Could I get an ethernet card and install it in my PC and then have the internet connection come out of that card into my modem and then plug the ethernet cable into my existing ethernet connection?

Why not just purchase a Wireless router ( There are also 4 switch ports on it) for about 65 euro here:

The method you talk aboue below appears to be ICS (Internet connection sharing) through your PC.
    Something like here:

Your PC will need two NICS unless you are using a USB to connect to the cable modem and you will need a crossover cable between xbox and PC.

To be honest I would go with the router.

So if I use a USB cable from my PC into my cable modem and then an ethernet cable from my xbox into my modem, that would work? OR even the ethernet cable from my xbox into the ethernet port on the PC, would that work?

So if I use a USB cable from my PC into my cable modem and then an ethernet cable from my xbox into my modem,
    This will not work.
he ethernet cable from my xbox into the ethernet port on the PC, would that work
    That will work.

Read the other blog link I sent on for ICS.

I amnt 100% sure of the modem you are using but assume that either the USB or the NIC can be used on it but not both.
Seriously though, the router I pointed to is the way to go......
