    This is a role is for an experienced support professional who can act as the single point of contact for all IT related issues on this site in Dublin. The role requires a support professional who can deal with a wide range of IT and technical support issues as well as the administrative tasks associated with the IT infrastructure of this office. The person needs to be self reliant and be able to work on his/her own with guidance from the IT department in London. There will be no other IT staff on site, hence the role requires a well versed individual who can perform the entire range of IT related tasks that would in other situations be expected of an Regional IT Manager or a Junior Service Delivery Manager. Strong admin and technical documentation skills would be required initially and the ability to work with a third party maintenance company.



    Responsibilities:

    · Specify, order, assemble and install hardware. Install and configure operating system software plus third-party system tools, database systems, applications and products.

    · Perform software upgrades and new software installation both pro-actively and in response to requests from users of systems, including any necessary patches to operating systems and applications to ensure continuing stable and secure operation.

    · Implement appropriate data access and security measures, including access control, audit, backup/restore and system rebuild & recovery processes, in order to safeguard data integrity and maximize availability.

    · Ensure the E-mail and Active Directory servers and their ancillary equipment provide 99.8% peak time availability and meet the requirements of our users in a secure and effective manner.

    · Working with the management team, implement & test Business Continuity measures in order to enable continued operations of computer systems identified as requiring such protection in accordance with the corporate Disaster Recovery program.

    · Act as initial point of contact for user support calls to the I.T. Helpdesk, (i.e. call logging, acknowledgement and closure) in order that all calls are logged correctly and promptly, and allocated appropriately within the Dublin IT team.

    · Provide first-line technical support when handling calls, in order to provide time-of-call resolution to more basic support calls wherever possible.

    · Provide an ad-hoc support service to users of all computer systems, troubleshooting and resolving systems problems.

    · Carry out prescribed program of system performance monitoring, measurement, management and capacity planning for computer systems, in order that a pro-active approach may be taken to meeting changing system demands.

    · Use of the Asset Database and IT Helpdesk in order to record & maintain details of IT assets being purchased, re-allocated or disposed of.

    · Maintain a physical library of software and documentation, in order that this is available to IT Analysts and other colleagues as and when required.

    · Administer various local 3rd party vendor licensing agreements ensuring accurate details of all licenses are maintained and available.

    · Be responsible for the purchasing of IT goods, i.e. technical quotations, use of purchase database, dealing with external suppliers, placing orders, taking delivery so that items are available when required.

    Manage stock levels and re-ordering process for computer consumables, in order to ensure items are available as required without holding excessive quantities.
