AAAQ in PLO....

Now I know what you are thinking... EH? AAAQ (ss) in PLO.... a hand to go broke on...

But this is weird... its folded to me on the SB (weird in itself for this table). I have been relatively aggressive and have been playing well for most of the night on .25/.50 while I try and get this game into my head. I've stacked a few people and have gotten my 100 stack up to 350. My bb is a bit odd and seems to be getting a bit miffed with facing my raises.

I make it 1.50 and he makes it 4.50 (he has 70 in front of him). In short it goes raise reraise rereraise etc etc until we have the lot in. I'm trying to think of what the hell he could have and frankly didnt think I could put it down but I'm also not exactly wild about going in with this hand but if I am, then I want it all in pre-flop.

In the end it turns out he's basically had a blow up and had AKxx no suit.

I dont know Omaha that well but I seriously cant think of dropping this hand preflop....

    Comments?

If you are guaranteed headsup then this is good.

Heads up against a player on tilt or who doesnt understand PLO then fine get it in but against a decent player or in a multi way pot you should fold.

I read a good article by Rolf Slotboom on playing AAAx, i think it was in Card Player. All gambling sites are blocked here in work but I'll try and dig it out when I get home. But yeah, I'd be happy to get it in here heads up.

Yeah, from looking at twodimes.net most hands that are going to rererereraise here are at best 60:40 against me.

    Curiously enough, 8d 5d 7h 6h is about a .1% favourite :)

I have to say, the action in Omaha is terrific. I dont think I could have made 250 notes profit on the .25/.50 tables in about 2.5 hours.
Its like learning Holdem again too, all new and fresh!

The standard at 0.25/0.50 and 0.50/1 on Tribeca is absolutely ridiculous. It is very easy to make several buyins at those levels in a very short period of time.

Tell me about it! :D I can concur.

Was sitting with $600 on 0.50/1 inside about 45mins - 1 hour the other night.

Doubled up 3 hands into it, and cracked a big stack of 300 odd halfway through the session, because he couldn't fold the bottom set.

...there is plenty of serious money to be made around those tables.

Very true I must have donated several hundred buy ins at that level in omaha and hilo!

great value on the Omaha tables...biggest stack at 50./1 was 1.4k.

at 2/4 i built a stack up to 7k, 5k pot won with two pair K's and 7's

Only left the table with 5k though :o
