Hi all, my first post on this boards.

I saw a traffic accident where a truck hit a parked car on my road. I got the reg number and called the guards. They came and later the guy who owned to car called in to the house and we had a chat. Now I have given a statement to the guards. Today a letter arrives from his solicitor wanting me to fill in a statement about the accident. Now I firstly could not be bothered filling in and posting this long statement and secondly should I really get involvend and seem to pick sides when I have given a statement to the guards exactly as it happened and third I cannot remember the reg or even what happened at this stage. Do I have any obligation to get involved here beyone the civic duty I already fullfilled.

    Advice please

    thanks

swap places with the car owner, what would "you" want you to do?

I should think that the statement you provided for the gardai at the time should be sufficient. Contact the solicitor and tell them your statement is on file with the gardai at whatever station.
