Will the Wii work on a 50hz TV?

Just wondering if the wii will work on my ancient tv that can only display 50hz. Searched with google has failed to turn up anything so I'm guessing this knowledge is common and I'm a newb.

I'm not 100% but I think it's 60Hz only... but I could be wrong.
