Questions about Tribeca/Ipoker merge

The Bluesq team are meeting with Ipoker on Thursday. If any of you have any questions or concerns then please post them in this thread and I will make sure they get to them in time to be asked at the meeting.

Since I posted earlier I have spoken to Bluesquare and they are confident that the move will have a long term benefit to the players. The Tribeca software simply cannot keep up with the competition and the back end of the Ipoker software is much more user friendly allowing for more flexibility in tournaments etc.

The timescale is up to 6 months before any transfer takes place and the cages and Tribeca are committed to making sure that the changes are as smooth as possible.

    is it rigged?

Will players still be able to withdraw direct to their cc?. I wouldnt like it if i wasnt able to anymore.

If the transition doesnt go smoothly in the early stages and there are problems like Betfair or disconnection problems etc will players be reimbursed?

Will tribeca still be executing an exit strategy in the US market now its changed hands?

Will the bb/buyin levels change with the new software?

Is it the same RNG software?

Can they press my win button?

Can they find my win button?

slightly ammended question from me - thanks!

Will tribeca still be executing an exit strategy in the US market now its changed hands? It will become a non US player network. There are plenty of non US fish. Doyles & Golden Palace have to find a new home which is going to be difficult as most of the existing networks have a non-US strategy.

Will the bb/buyin levels change with the new software? I expect so. Will ask.

Is it the same RNG software? I don't think so, will ask.

Can they press my win button? It is pressed but some players are so bad they still can't win......

    ok a few questions!!

    1) I already have an account with Noble Poker. Will this complicate things?
    2) If our username is taken by an existing ipoker player what happens?
    3) Will ipoker try to migrate some of the existing tournament strutures? eg the 99 rebuy etc? (I hear a lot of you lol but i like them!)
    4) Will the new hand history format be supported by pokertracker?
    5) Will player notes be migrated
    6) same with buddy list
    7) What about action points
    8) Also, what about player bonuses, loaylty programs etc

Noble poker. And that cdpoker that were giving away free money recently. Betfairs move suddenly looks reasonable.

Its not really clear, are BlueSq leaving Tribeca for Ipoker or are Tribeca and Ipoker merging?

EDIT: NEVERMIND Just read the link on your post Mike.

    Will there be rakeback?

Noble Poker's not too bad. reminded me a lot of partypoker.the one thing that annyoed me was their constant marketing... it didn't stop at emails either. i used to get dozens of letters from them in the door.. also, when logging on u have to use your account ID which is not your screen name. It's a 10 digit alpha-numeric code which I can never remember! The software is fine IMO

Will existing affiliate agreements with Tribeca/BlueSq skins be honoured??

    2) If our username is taken by an existing ipoker player what happens? Will ask - had thought of that myself as I have an account there.
    3) Will ipoker try to migrate some of the existing tournament strutures? eg the 99 rebuy etc? (I hear a lot of you lol but i like them!) The plan is to have similar tournaments but the ability to add more variety.
    4) Will the new hand history format be supported by pokertracker? Will check if Ipoker is supported.
    5) Will player notes be migrated Will ask
    6) same with buddy list Will ask
    7) What about action points Will ask
    8) Also, what about player bonuses, loaylty programs etc Should be unaffected - will confirm

    Hi ShortStack

What do u think will happen to doyles room and golden palace. Is there any possibility that these may merge and keep the same software as tribeca or is the software layout going to disappear totally.

A technical solution will be written so this will not be an issue.
    ocallagh wrote:

Again we will scope up a technical solution for this. I believe you will be offered a slight variation of your existing username.
    ocallagh wrote:

New tournaments will be added, to reflect player preferences this is one of the easier aspects of migration :)

No I am afraid this is not possible
    ocallagh wrote:

Not technically possible for the same reason
    ocallagh wrote:

We will migrate AP's a technical solution will be put in place, they will be re-calculated to reflect the IP structure and you will have them on migration
    ocallagh wrote:

The IP network has an Extremely flexible bonus, loyalty programme there will also be a built in VIP system.

Playtech have a VERY Strict policy of 0 rakeback on the network. However they do have an in built VIP programme.
At one point rakeback did exist on the network however, this led to cannabalism etc and was then seen as a poor and short term marketing ploy. There is now a zero tolerence policy which includes penalties for violation.

If the usernames change, even if they are a variation on existing names this will be a right pain for Pokertracker users. All of the users in the database will have new names so there will need to be some kind of conversion utility.

This is extremely doubtful as TT are withdrawing from the US market due to legalities and therefore software support would be unavailable.

For anyone concerned about Pokertracker. iPoker is supported by PT with their latest update.

As long as my bankroll continues to grow on GJP I don't give a ****e what the software looks like. As long I'm playing against the same muppets, who cares?

I am worried though that if they don't offer rakeback then I'll be forced to leave. I mean I'm getting up to 50% on some other sites.

*coughs* how come when getting a constant stream of deposit bonus offers from an operator on the network I decided to reply to an email and got offered a rakeback deal, sign up bonus and entry to a few tournaments alongside a small $20 insta bonus for opening an account with them on this network?

    Re: Usernames.
Seems a bit unfair that you get given a new username only if your Tribeca one is already taken on Playtech - I think everyone should be offered a new username when they upgrade - I've got 5 mortal enemies at the last count who I'd like to start afresh with (as in I'd hate if they knew me but I didn't know them cause they'd had a name change).

STTs - is it going to be the Tribeca structure or the Playtech structure - I can play the Tribeca structure on autopilot, the Playtech blinds seem very different?

Armani, you could go and sign up with them before the merger, with a new name. Or can sign up with some other Tribeca cage with a new screen name.

No need to use up APs, with ppp anyway - they will be converted to their new value on migration to iPoker. Each room on Tribeca is doing things their own way so I cant speak for Blue Sq, VC etc.

policies are policies and enforcement is enforcement. When the networks merge things will clean up a lot.

There are some very generic, casino focused rooms on the network. Try pinging into live support and see how many casino bonus offers they can cram into one sentence :)

There will be a mixture. Some Tribeca structures will be migrated and we will have our own custom structured STTs, MTTs and special Cash Tables.

You dont need to rush to use your action points on GJP either, they will be converted to playtechs system.

There are tournys registering for up to the 26th Feb. That might be an indication of how long we have...then again, they might just move the tourny to the new network.

There haven't been any announcements about rakeback being withdrawn for people already receiving 25/30%+ deals thus far though.

As an aside, I am not fond of the software personally. There will also be no more 9 seater ring games for anyone who cares. It will be HU/6 seater/10 seaters from here onwards.

/edit bleh, quoted wrong post but I'm sure you know which one I should have.

no big secret about migration, just a date hasn't been confirmed yet so there's no point in me guessing and being wrong. it is happening as soon as technically possible.

as for rakeback, anyone receiving rakeback on iPoker won't anymore.

I'm not familiar with the new network but I am curious about capacity and stability. With such an increase in traffic I hope their software/infrastrcutre can cope. Have they stress tested the platform ? We are all aware of the downtime on tribeca, not to mention continuous cashier problems. I hope these issues will all be resolved.

Lets just say that GJP will be valuing their customers loyalty just as highly when we transfer over as we have to date.

Playtech have over 200 dedicated developers working so this will not be an issue. Nothing will be left to chance and once everyone has made the move, iPoker will be the largest European facing network. Cosmetic issues will be dealt with in time but the backend is top class.
