    Hi folks,

Was just looking for your input on this external HD. Is it good value (@ €130) and would it be a reliable piece of kit for backing up and storing music/photos/email etc ?

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=318873

    Thanks.

One of my mates bought that exact external a few weeks ago and has had no problems whatsoever. Its quite compact, and very quiet as well.

Yeah they're a great drive, just have mine two weeks from komplett, but to be honest u shouldn't bother with the premium edition, just spend the same and get the 320 gig essential edition, unless u really need to use firewire.:)

Ok lads, bought the 320GB in Pcworld for €129.99.
    Its a neat little beast.
Time to free up some drive space on laptop and desktop
    Good Value I say

Thanks for all the feedback - much appreciated. I needed firewire hence choosing the 'premium edition' version.
I'll put in an order later this evening all going to plan :)

yeah i went for the firewire one myself, I tend to move vast amounts of stuff at one time and the difference between waiting 30 minutes with USB2 to waiting 15 with firewire 400 (wish I could of afforded the fw800 :() makes the extra money worth while. Plus I mount ISOs from the external HDD so the faster the better. :D You made a good choice... quality over quantity I say. ;)
