Mouse Trouble

I'm currently using an Apple wireless mighty mouse & am a bit annoyed at the fact that for some reason within the last week or so, the mouse functionality has been compromised in the sense that it will only scroll down the way but not up:mad:

When I run my finger over the little ball on the mouse it will not scroll the page upwards but no problem with down the way.

Should I get onto to Apple for a new one?

Man, I get that too and it bugs me. Sometimes I put a dry cloth on it and do some circles and press down hard when I do it and it may help for a few hours. Otherwise I can't fix it.

It's not with the wireless mouse though, just the younger brother cable version.

Try cleaning it with a damp, lint free cloth?

This is just one of the thingy about the MightMouse.
Use the sleeve of your jumper etc and rub the ball really hard.
That should do it for a while.

I found out that the best way is also to clean your mouse while holding it upside down so that anything in there will pop out. Mine is working fine now from doing that.

I ordered one of these to arrive with my MacBook Pro *before* I read the user comments on the Apple store. Jeez, what a rip. I just hope this cleaning 'technique' works (I've never needed to once look at my Microsoft laser mouse since I got it 5 years ago).

I'm a bit pissed off with my mighty mouse too. Why is it necessary to lift my finger off the left "button" in order for it to recognise a right click? Would it kill apple to add two actual physical buttons, or do they just not want to admit they should have added right/context mouse buttons years ago!?

You know its for aesthetic reasons! ;)

You know, I know a few Mac-heads who get along just fine without even CTRL-clicking for their daily tasks, so I wouldn't be so quick to knock Apple's design decisions there...

The mighty mouse reviews on the applestore are almost totally negative, lol. Everyone has this same problem. I'm surprised Apple leave them up, they must surely effect sales.

The quality of Apple's mice have never been up to much anyway. On my old imac I must of replaced the the mouse no less than 4 times in 3 years.

I would take my Mighty Mouse over my PC crappy mouse anyday. I love it. Bought it cos the trackpad on my iBook never worked properly and Apple wouldnt fix it. Must admit I have rarely used it since I got my MBP though. I mostly use a graphics tablet for PS.
