Myself and a mate are planning on heading out to a casino for the first time tommorow evening and was just wondering whats the best option. He's relatively new to poker(Ive been playing for the past two years online. I know what your going to say "it took you this long":D ). Anyway I think the only game he knows is texas holdem(I may be able to convince him to have a game of omaha) and were looking for fairly low buy-ins(anything sub 50 euro for tournies or low limit pl or nl cash games). Any advise? would we be better waiting for another night? Thanks.

    Are you in dublin?

http://www.fitzwilliamcardclub.com/tournaments.htm There's the schedule for the Fitzwilliam. The €50 Double chance on Tuesday or the €30 on Sunday are pretty good.

http://www.thejackpot.ie/ Thats the Jackpot schedule, they have a decent €20 one every thursday.

Don't know if you'd be interested in freerolls, but there are ones in the fitz every thursday saturday and sunday. And i think the tomorrows game in the jackpot is a freeroll with €10 rebuys, if not then it's €10 in and €10 rebuys.

Tha majority of the cash games in dublin are 1/2 PL hold'em. You'll also find 1/2 PL Round of each games.

Tourney wise monday in the SE =
    €25 + €5 "No Limit" Texas Hold'Em
    3 x €25 Re-buys or 2 x €25 Re-Buys & 1 x €25 Top-up

Fitz on a monday is a €100 game with 1 rebuy or top up.

jackpot on mondays = €10 rebuy satellite to their tuesday double chance.

If you're looking for low buy in tourneys, i reckon the best would the the 30 game on sunday afternoons in the fitz and the 50 double chance in the SE. The jackpot has a 20 freeze out on thursdays, but i've no tplayed in that so i dunno how many runners it gets.
