    Hi,

I copied my digital photos from my camera to a CD and then deleted them off my camera. I made sure that all the KB were on the CD. When I went to upload them I could not generate a preview at all, even though the pictures take up about 128MB. Has anyone had a similar problem and is it easy to solve.

Also I made a backup from the CD onto my pen drive which I now cannot find just to add insult to injury

    Thanks

    Shakeydude

You should be able to get recovery software of the internet to get them back. I have recovery software for memory cards and it works quite well.

I had this happen to me in work Shakeydude, I basically had to format a guys pc and rebuild it, but I of course neglected to back up all of his documents and settings first and he lost his only copy of his recent honeymoon pics.

He also had backed up his files to a CD and they just wouldn't appear in his OS as files for dragging and dropping, it essentially appeared as a blank CD. The only way they would appear was through the browser software that came with his camera. Have you tried using that?

I got the Hama 19 in 1 card reader, and with it came recovery software.

I've never had to use it in a proper emergency, but needed to have a second look at files. As I said, works well! :)

Like Fajitas I've never had to use it in a real emergency but seems to be able to recover the files(jpegs only tried) from a formatted CF card

Thanks for that, I am away at the moment but will try my cameras software when I get home. I have a kodak and the software is a pain it is constantly active on my PC acting like spyware.

The free software on the net seems like the job

Also, I found my memory stick with all the pics(or should I say my girlfriend did) so alls well that ends well

Had a faulty CF Card and managed to get all thepics back.

PC inspector would only recover some of the files but this managed to get them all back.
