    As the question states,

The winning bidder for an item i am selling on ebay wants to pay for it using a UK GBP postal order as he states that his pay pal a/c is not working (?). Does it cost me anything to cash a uk postal order here, and where would i cash it in? post office or bank? The total cost of the item is approx 24 euro.

Yikes! I dunno if they can even be cashed here at all. If they can it will be a bank and they will fleece you for doing it could cost you €5 at least and you will have to wait a while till it clears > a week. :(

Otherwise a trip to NI will be nessasary to cash it in a PO. Can you ask him for a euro bank draft which would be far better for you? I feel you are being very accomodating of this guy as you are well within your rights to neg feedback him as he won't use paypal. The least he should do is get a euro draft.

I lodged an Australian dollar postal order no problem though you may need to check with your bank if there will be any charges in your case. Anyhoo, your buyer should be able to get a euro bank draft at his/her bank.

It would probably cost you something, if you can cash it at all, I am unsure. Get him to send you an international bank draft for Euros.

Link might be of help. It does not list Ireland as being able to cash UK Postal orders.
