I'm spending my erasmus year in Paris (hopefully) next year, but I want to go over this summer and work for a month, you know, get used to the place etc.
I heard that jobs are impossible to get so I decided to start looking early but I have no idea where to start (looking online doesn't seem to have come to any fruition)

Has anybody worked in Paris before? Or does anybody know how I can get a job there?

Maybe contact this bunch of Irish expats, http://www.parisgaa.org/ for some leads.

    Hi stickinikki,

many moons ago (it was 1998) i spent the summer working in Disneyland Paris

I have to say, it was probably the best student summer I had and I would highly recommend it

It does of course depend on what sort of job you end up getting (and there are many). I was working in a restaurant there, clearing tables and serving at the bar in the restaurant and it was great. Met loads of people and (because I was the only native English speaker in that workplace) I learnt a lot of French

back then they used to advertise in the Irish Sunday papers but now I'm thinking the internet is the way to go. I remember I had my interview for there around the 1st of May, ended up working there for 4 months June til end Sept, there are shorter contracts

see if you can make sense out of the website http://disneylandparis-casting.com/

Disneyland Paris is in the very outer suburbs of Paris (it is Zone 5 and if you can imagine the actual city centre is zone 1 and 2). It is about 30 minutes on the train into the centre of PAris, used to go in there all the time (everyone works just 5 days a week), so much to do, ah *goes misty-eyed*

the accommodation they provided was great, like a big university campus except with no rules as such. for any more info re: interview etc feel free to PM me, am getting tired now(it's late). and best of luck!

Sounds great to me. I was nearly going to apply for the USA college program this summer but decided not too.....this on the other hand would be great if i got it.

Don't know where to take the first step for this though....might contact the organisers of the USA one. Em...what was your french like before you went there??
