Last night I took some more shots for my buddy's band. Nothing seemed to right for me. AF wouldnt lock on, lighting was crap, WB was all over the place, I couldnt get a nice frame. so I partly gave up and just started playing with settings I wouldnt usually and I switched to RAW.
I was happy I did. I felt the pics showed much true colours then before with jpeg. I need to calibrate my monitor though as they appear much darker in work then they did at home.

I'd live people opinion please and how to improve (or if I've got worse). I know they arent the best I've taken (noise iso1600 for most, slightly blurred) but in saying that the band were delighted. they said there was more "action" to them then the others I'd taken.

Anyway you can see the whole of them at the link below. (its the Subsonic FZ album from last night)

You got some nice shots there, just one thing about RAW is that you almost always have to pump up the contrast a little, it'll stop the photos looking kinda flat.

You got the possibility of some nice images there. As always with me I don't really dig motion blur in gig shots, but thats a personal preference, although it can look good if done right.

not wanting to be too harsh but they're technically very poor in my opinion

composition in most of them isn't great, do a bit of cropping on them as there's lots of wastedspace in some of them. Watch out for guitars and mic stands getting in the way of things. If it's too dark for your cameras abilities, use bounced flash and/or slow synch flash so at least something will be not blurred

thanks. but as I said I felt last nights were the worst I've taken anyway.

I'm looking for a good flash at the moment to help out with the low light gig shots.
