the interview is from 1992 (!!), so I guess it would be better to state he's owned one . I believe The Edge still owns the Mercs. The green 220SE Convertible featured in one of their videoclips a couple of years ago...

A friend of mine was storing the Merc for a few years, Bono has a Humber Super Snipe hearse too.
I thought the Merc. 300SE was silver? Wasn't in the video for the song Sorry?

I almost T-boned the edge in his metallic blue 280 SE convertible.

Bono drives a Maserati Quattroporte, he sold the hearse I think and used to have a couple of DSs at one point.

Adam has had a number of Citroens, but the SM is his car of choice.

Larry rides a number of bikes - a think a Moto Guzzi.

I reckon since that U2 interview is more than 14 years ago that some of the cars they spoke of have been sold, and others bought !

Junkyard, my recollection of that video was as you say, a silver/blue 300SE convertible. I know the Edge had a dark green 280SE 3.5 Coupe, as per Eamonn Andrews !

DS, when did you see that blue one ?? And was it silvery blue ?

I don't claim to have 'superior knowledge' at all Wishbone Ash , it's just that 1992 is mentioned at the very beginning of the interview. . It refers to the 1992 Tour, so it might have been 93 or 94, but still I'd say at least 12 years ago.

And MercMad/Junkyard, you could both very well be right: It's just that I somehow strangely seem to recollect that the Merc Convertible in the videoclip was green, and that it was a 220se... must try and track the clip down sometime to have another look :rolleyes:

Bono did own the Cortina I believe it featured in one of their early videos.He gave it to a close friend of his as a wedding present I think.I was offered a loan of it for a year (by the new owner not Bono) if I replaced the engine but had to decline despite my love for the car as I didn't have the money for the insurance nor the engine. Bono also owned and maybe still does a very nice Bristol saloon. Both vehicles used to be seen around the Temple Bar area from time to time. The cortina had a black vinyl roof, and the interior was beautifully tasteless.
