In Miniseries they speak of leaving behind this solar system so from that i gather that all the 12 colonies where in the same solar system ok....

But in Home part II they look up at the sky and see the 12 constellations that the 12 colonies are in and im guessing they looked like they where up 500+ light years maybe even 1000 light years distant from one another

So which is it? also if they where distant from one another then jump tech is VERY advanced and can move incredible distances. Also with cylon tech being more advanced does that mean a cylon fleet could reach earth in say.... 13 or 14 jumps? because it only took 6 jump to get from where they where in lay down our burdens to caprica (this was when they used cylon tech on there rapters with athenas help.

Not much point in having a jump drive mcguffin if you're not jumping interstellar distances, surely? ;)
I always assumed the 12 colonies were in different systems but have no factual basis for this.

well we are told they are in different systems in home part II but we are told they are the same solar system in the Movie/Mini-series

Where did they (the 12(13) colonists for the 12(13) colonies) orignally come from? They all musta started somewhere so maybe they all had mini colonies in one solar system before spreading out more due to lack of space or whatever.

Im stretching i know and tbh i dunno :p

They all came from kobol a planet where the human species orginated where the where created by and lived with the gods

None of that makes sense. Forgive me if I havent recapped Home Pt.II recently, but in the miniseries they are using Sub-light engines for everything before the Attack...and Tigh makes a big deal when they plot a jump, because it hasnt been done in 20+ years.

Which scares me the more, because as the jump activates, Cali says: "I always hate this part..." 0.O The Cylon Whoore..AND she got knocked up :)

I think in Home II they are talking about the Horoscopical Constellations; and will continue to assume they simply Found a large Planetary system with the 12 colonies (or cluster of systems, to explain the prescence of the Ragnar Nebula?)

Don't actually remember that episode too well, but maybe they meant the Galactica (ship) hadn't made a jump in 20 years? It is an old ship, on its way out of commission at the time.

no no no, the big deal was that noone ever, ever had plotted a jump that far out from the 12 colonies thats all

Actually Goodshape is right. The whole point was that BSG hadn't used its jump-drive in 20 odd years.

And in any case, why would cali remark "I hate this part" unless it was a common every day occurence elsewhere in the 12 colonies?

I watched it yesterday i kinda remember what was said.

Adama: Can you plot a jump to the ??? Sector
Tigh: Thats way past the red line
Geats: ive never plotted a jump that far
Adama: noone has can you do it?
    Geata: Yes

If Cali does turn out to be a cylon and he read spoilers without spoiler tagging them I would suggest a permanent ban from BSG forums for that User (Overheal)
That would relay piss me off if he recked the show

Haven't seen it in a while, but do remember Tigh remarking on the 'Red Line' which must have been the furthest out any colonial ship had gone to that point.

And apols if i'm the only one who picked up that from overheal's post and then blew it up.

Gaeta also got a message from Fleet HQ, asking for the status of FTL capable ships to go check on the officer sent to armistice station. FTL is a normal technology, but is used as little as possible (possible reasons include: expense of tylium fuel; inherant risks involved in the technology, both navigational and physical).

As far as Cally is concerned, I'm one of those unusual people who reads spoilers (to the point of actively searching them out), and I have heard absolutely nothing about this. There is no information in the public domain about the final 5 Cylon models, only speculation.

At no point in the series is any concrete information on the relative positions of the Colonies given.

WELL THAT MAKES ME FEEL ALLOT BETTER I WAS IM SUCH A **** MOOD

What i sometimes do is i will read all episodes for TV shows but NEVER the last episode in the series but with BSG it is so good and such a good single stroy arc (not just stand alone episodes like sg1 and star trek) I never read anything about BSG I think its so good that i dont need to read about futture good epsides to keep me interrested

User, the other possibility of our freind overheal is he got mixed up. We've all remarked on how good the plot lines generally are, so why have 2 Cylon women, who both get pregnant in postioins where they are seen on the screen.

Maybe it was Boomer who said 'I hate this part', can someone check??

No, it's Cally. But there's no evidence whatsoever that Cally is a Cylon.

WOA WOA WOA WOA WOA WOA WOA WOA WOA WOA WOA WOA WOA WOA WOA.......................

    ........this isn't my Batman glass....

....It was NOT A SPOILER, I read it from absolutely NOWEHRE, it is simply A THEORY OF MINE based on information that has been available in the show since the miniseries; no more, no less.

It was definitely 255% Cali that said it, btw.

I hate spoilers, they kill shows; especially one like BSG, so don't get on my case.

and if IM gonna be accused of spoiling: this whole thread deals with events in season 2: so why isnt there a spoiler warning for that? Maybe someone hasnt seen season 2 yet...SO #(%#&^(^%$@&#(^%#^$#& off :(

done? Truce? Hippy skippity yay. Lets move on, shall we.

As far as guessing "whos a Cylon", thats a big part of the show; I wouldnt be surprised if it were Cali...but it seems doubtful. Even though she said it during the miniseries, at worst its probably a script faux pas.

Another great thing to THEORISE about: whos gonna get killed this season? :D theres a vid on scifi.com where the actors start giving out their theories (Note: the actors don't have access to scripts involved at time of blog) I got my money on....oh god(s) I forgot her name....the Comms lady... 10 Euros; whos with me?

    I dont see it being

Geata, lee, bill, tigh, roslan, giaus

So it could be athena, chief, Aggathon, Calai
