I enjoy doing portraits like this immensely, but at the same time I prefer candid photos as I think you get more life like expressions on people. On the flipside, maybe one photo out of 90 comes out perfect for a portait (the last one really was Jade). And if of course give me an excuse to be a cheap bastard and to avoid purchasing light boxes and reflectors:



As with Jade's photo one eye came out pitch black, which I fixed by cloning the bright eye over the dark and adjusting. The rest of the photo was sorted through the shadow/highlight tool, which I've recently come to use and love.

tis a bit better but you still have to go and reshoot it, cause it's not much of a point photoshopping the hell out of it, if you can simply reshoot it.

Flash into the ceiling will help a lot, or flash with flash diffuser.

Fajitas had a nice tip of putting cigarettes paper on a flash - it'll do as a diffuser
