Hi All. I'm 28 and living in limerick. I want to do some sort of MA and was wondering if anyone here know of a good club in Limerick. I'd really like to do Muay Thai but can't find any club in here. I did see a kickboxing club in UL that looks interesting.

They offer beginner kickboxing and intermediate/advanced kickboxing with MMA. Do you guys think this is a good place to start? Any of ye know of the club or instructors?

    Check out http://www.limericktkd.com/

I trained under David Jackson there for three years and he is an excellent instructor.

Clive's not from Limerick. They kicked him out after an unfortunate "incident".

    OP,
AFAIK Debra Donovan is running UL Kickboxing while Tim is galavanting around South America. You won't go wrong there, a sound bunch of folks with a solid reputation. Debra posts on here sometimes but you can nab them through their website and forum.

Thanks lads. I'm going to go check it out on Tuesday. I'll report back my impressions. One more question... Is kick boxing good for fitness?

Yes, I'm familiar with their work. :) \

The website is really out of date but as far as I know the training times are still the same. You can ask on our forum if you have any questions. As Roper pointed out, I'm far too busy galavanting at the moment to be involved with the club but unless things have changed dramatically the club offers training in standup, clinch and ground fighting. There is also a seperate BJJ class on Mondays, which is run by Fergal Quinlan, not sure what time its on at though.

Why do people think I'm from Limerick? (although I do like Limerick)

Seriously at the Irish BJJ Open someone was talking to me for about ten minutes about Limerick and everyone from there. It was only about halfway in that I realised he thought I was from there, and after that I was too embarrassed (for him) to say that I wasn't!
