    Hi,

Last night my Dad was telling me a story of the one and only time he thinks he may have seen a ghost.

Now, my Dad isn't one for making up ghost stories, so I was hoping to investigate, and see if I can find a bit of history to go with his story.

The Mater Hospital used to be Dominican College, a secondary school, and my dad was working down stairs, doing some building work.

He was on his own, and he swears that out of the corner of his eye he saw a nun, standing at the top of the stairs, starring right at him.
Now he cant be sure if she was looking at him, or through him, but he said he was terrified, and never turned to face her, instead her turned away, slowly picked up his tools and walked swiftly in the opposite direction without looking back.

I am fascinated by this story, and was just wondering if there is anywhere I can do a bit of research into it.

I would love to know if anyone else has seen this nun, and the story of how she died.

I have googled, but I think I might be looking up the wrong key words.

    Can anyone help?

I suggest yu find the nearest Dominican Parish to the area and make equiries there. As far as I know St. Xaviors on Dominic Street is Dominican as I got married there and now a couple of priests who used to be based there. A local historical soc. might be able to help you too but that depends on whether you want the hassle of it all.

actually, I think it used to be Scoil Caitriona, another Glasnevin school, I know because my sister went to both of them, and I think it was Scoil Chaitriona that was there and is now on Mobhi Road, beside the primary school Scoil Mobhi.
