Thursday tournaments?

I haven't played a Dublin tourney in ages, so I haven't a clue what's on on Thursday nights. So can any of you tourney junkies give me a run-down of what each casino has on tonight? I couldn't be arsed trailing through pages and pages of this forum.

BTW, has there been an updated tournament calender created, like the one Suited Aces/Antes up had way back (when there was only three games a week!).

I'm not playing in it but friends of mine are running it for Clontarf Athletic FC....

it's in BarCode in Clontarf/Fairview at 8 tonight - €30 rebuy, very social in nature but if you fancy getting mangilated whilst playing some cards (drinks are €3 all night) it could be good fun.

Also BarCode has many funky bar games where you can shoot lasers and suchlike....once you've donked off your stack and drunk many €3 drinks, this would be most entertaining!!

€150+10 freezeout in the fitz. Probably the best structured tournament in there.

    - €20 + 3 laughable standard student freezeout in the Jackpot. It's funny the way they play for it like it is a matter of life and death. 2,500 starting. 30 mins first three levels - 20 thereafter. Self Deal.

    - €50 + 5 double chance in the Emporium. 2,000 + 2,000. 20 min clock all night. Usually 70 - 100 runners. It is the crapshoot to end all crapshoots, filled with terrible players. I will be playing for, if you were to run hot, there is definately the potential for a nice return on your money if you finish in the top two.

    - €140 + 10 freezeout in the fitz. The structure of this game has been chopped and changed on many occassions. There seemed to have been some positive reports about how it was run last week. I for one would appreciate some confirmation on how it will run tomight. I may make a decision to play a decent tourney if the structure represents good value. Anyone??

SE has a 50+5 double chance game, 2k+2k, 20 minute clock. Gets loads of runners.

Fitz has a 140+10 FO with a 5k starting stack, 3x20 minute clock, and not sure about the rest as it has been 30 mins with antes, but I believe Luke increased it to 45 mins at one stage last week, but I wasn't there. Only gets around 30-35 runners though lately.

    No idea about anywhere else.

I do - isn't he the loser who works with Homer in the power plant??

only giving the lads a minor plug, I doubt if any serious poker players would be interested....

Cheers lads, that was quick! I think I'll head to Clontarf for old times sake; last time I was there was a party in 1993... Had to walk home to Inchicore. Fcuk that!

I'd forgotten about the Fitz game. Gave up on it because I didn't like the structure changes, but if it's improved then that's where I'll head.

I should stay at home as I've had my best ever week online this week and am running really well on Stars. I havn't played live since last Fridays boards game though, so I think i'll head into the Emporium to play the €50 double chance and a cash game.

Tony there was a reason to why I didnt do a deal when you offered in that tournament.

last night, circumstances were just so different.

hope you cashed well on the cash tables.

Meh. I suck at low buy - in club tourneys at the mo. My problem might be that I get all the money in ahead. I should try and get it in behind with outs. Or pace myself for a late charge up the rail so to speak....

What really gets me is the way they shrug the shoulders and go "ah well I must be behind but sure..." and calling before getting what they need to dog you.

    Sigh.

good stuff John, yeah you cant beat LUCK lol......
    na serious niceone...

well i went out 9th bla bla .... i got to the final table with 10K and wat seat did i draw 'seat 2' of course, so straight into big blind and i was only after paying big blind before the FT anyway blinds 1 + 2K so i pass BB and pass SB then on the button i see an A and push, guy on SB calls Q 10 o, well my A 6 was no match for his trip 10's...... lol

well i turn'd my winnings [80e] into 700 in the cash game, nice catch if i do say so myself...

here's one hand, im in sb look down at J 10, i have 350
guy in lp makes it 10, about 250
guy on the button calls - about 150
so just me left and i call.
    flop J 10 8 o,

any comments..... remember were in the SE.....

[guy in lp is a small bit tilty as he lost a few pots, but a good player - guy on the button is very loose]

No no John, i wasn't referring to anything by my comment, it was just a slating of how early i went out...Your deal was the correct result as you told me. All 3 of u were avearge stacked, it was late and there was a lof of all-in or fold plus u all got at least 2nd prize..nice result.

Unfortunately i was going along nicely at the cash tables until the curse of the last 3 hands struck. Summary...new guy joins table...raises..4 callers...i flop a flush....he bets 50, i make it 175..i forgot about Simon in the hand who pushes for 315...i decide to call and he had the 2nd nut flush...so that coupled with another late hit or 2 cost me my profit

I remember this hand Wes. If u check, LP is always going to bet pot here, as per situation. Button is going to call 90% of the time as you know, which gives you the chance to make it 200ish.Would be a nice result if you take it there and then. By you getting this much in, it tells LP you hit a hand and unless he had a genuine hand, he'd fold. You may still have to dodge bullets because the button could call with a straight draw or even a gutshot but youre making him play for his stack. If LP has Q9 or a set of 10s or 8s you still have a glimmer of hope.

Any reports on the Fitz €150 game? Details of structure etc. would be nice.

    thanks

Game is dying, only about 21 runners. 5 x 20 minute levels, all others 30 mins with an ante (I got KO'd in the second of these). They are using antes that only increase every 2 levels which is good. It seems though that people would rather play the DC crap in the SE or the same type thing in the Fitz on Tuesday rather than this which is a pity.

thats pretty much it tony..... i was 1st to act so i said i'll let the lp have a bash, my thinking was that he raised with AK AQ AJ maybe QQ KK, and if he was on a draw i was going to make him pay for it also knew the button was calling anytin... anyhow lp makes it 50 and button calls, - so i re-pot which is around 250.... comments??
so after a couple of min's lp goes all in and of course the fish or i mean the button calls......
lp says he's on an open ended KQ - button say's he has J 7 gut shot ??? and is drawing dead..
turn is 3d and river is 5s......
no help for their draws..... im not sure if i played this correct but i felt i was ahead and i was right - it was another thing if i stead ahead....
