Was looking around for a thread on stories of incredible chirp at the table, whether it be reeling in a fish or just general stories at the table which make you laugh. Didnt find one so here it is.

In the fitz late sunday night they started a new table and there was one guy who sat down and from the start he callled the guy to the left of me "cheif". "me and you again cheif", "cmon cheif ur better than that". You could see it was reaslly getting to the guy but he still didnt say anything back. After around an hr of sitting down the the guy raised pot pf with the only caller being "cheif". The flop came A,9,8 and cheif checked, the guy bet pot and cheif re-raised pot, other guy all in.
Cheif had a set of 9's and threw them over instantly saying I got you, the guy didnt say anything he just started doing that indian chant thing you did as a kid with your hand over your mouth and turned over his set of aces.

"The Chief" is a bit of a legend around these parts... I'd say his opponent was probably a poster here...

Thought it might have actually been yourself Stuntman, seeing as how Ian was busy winning the BCOOP last night... unless like a true degenerate he headed in after to ride the good variance train.

Not me. I rarely play in the Fitz.

The Chief himself may not have been involved at all, as I don't think I have seen him in the Fitz on a Sunday, and I am fairly sure he wasn't there last Sunday.

It may have been Des (Doc) Farrell who refers to people generically as 'Chief' and has been doing so long before the legend himself was discovered.

I am off the pokah habit at the moment what with my new status as 'responsible husband and father'

(this is under negotiation with Mrs S)

One of the best comments i've heard about on the tables also came from the fitz. I wasn't present but it was a cash table where 2 guys were doing a bit of talking the whole time. At one point, one of them re-raised all in when heads up against the other one. He took a bit of decision time and the raiser asked him " do you not trust me". The reply was delivered in a dead pan manner....

"buddy, i wouldn't trust you with children"

    ouch

my favourite tribeca opponent is a guy called acurapro who you can see playing anything from play money to 3-6
He is a really bad Lag and following him around has paid of nicely
What is great is not only is he a lunatic but very soon the whole table is a lunatic as he gets up to his lag ways

One of his favourite moves is to 4 bet a bluff with something like 73os show the cards and state pro moves proudly to the table

He has a million statements that suggest he is a poker pro
But what is more hilarious is once you have his number and catch him a statement along the lines of "how do you like them pro moves" will uber tilt him

i so wish this guy could win the lottery
