What a gig last night. Fantastic.
He played loads of songs I haven't heard in years.
    What was your favourite?
Mine was the acoustic version of Wartime Prayers he did for one of his many encores. You didn't hear a pin drop in the Point.

it was a great show; Bridge Over Troubled Water going from solo guitar to low key band thing and then the whole nine yards.

like a lot of people there, the newer stuff was lost on me, but I'll pick up the new album one of the days.

missed the first song or two due to awful traffic. jesus - it's terrible down there; walknig from o'connell st is the ONLY way to go!

I agree the traffic was crap. I made sure to leave the house early to get parking in the Point carpark.

You should really get the new album, it's excellent.

Did you see the guy getting "ejected"? He was about 2 rows behind me constantly whistling and shouting "I love you Paul, you're the best"?? Lunatic.
Loads of people complained about him; you couldn't hear a thing with him roaring.

heard him. but up in Row E we weren't too bothered!!!

    :-D

s'funny...was there much 'singing along'...up the front you couldn't really hear the crowd at all...

    I was in Row C :p

I could hear a bit of singing along, but it all sounded a bit gentle.

    Me too! :D

And I echo everybody else saying how great it was. Didn't know that guy got evicted though! Some shouting is to be expected, but when he shouted during some of the quieter songs it was disturbing.

I left early and got parking along the quay, so didn't have to pay. Dead handy, and not too far a walk either. But it was slow getting there and leaving was even worse. Not that I'm complaining. It was still well worth it!

I'm a novice at going to concerts and am still on a high after the concert but is it normal practice for people to crowd around the stage. I found it added to the atmosphere, what a musican, what a songwriter, what a genius

I got some fantastic photos of him and good video from my camera of my favourite songs.
    Great memories.

You were lucky the security people were giving out to people who tried to take photos whatever harm it would do to have a momento of the night

They were giving out about flash photography. I was so close to the front that I took the flash off and they still came out fine. Anyone further back was pretty knackered I'd say.

poor you, you missed a great gig. But you must have left it pretty late... I checked the website 2 weeks after the gig was announced and there were tickets available...

Yeah, it's fairly normal for the audience to head up to the front towards the end of the concert. Stewards usually stop it up to a point, but towards the end of the night get more lenient.

Stewards had no problem with people taking pictures (unlike at other concerts I've been to where NO pictures were allowed). Flash wasn't allowed (understandably) and they wouldn't allow people to get out of their seats to take the photos either - a pity for those not up front, I don't see what harm it is to let them up for a quick photo.
