Does anybody know if...and where I could find a home brew making kit in Dublin and how much it would cost?

2 choices that I know of.
A healthfood shop in DunLaoghaire or Linda at http://www.grapengraindublin.com/

The shop in Dunleary is a bit cheaper but very hit and miss. They're out of stock as often as in.

A basic set of equipment will set you back about 50 quid but you'll pay up to about 100 to get everything.

If you want to save a few quid, start drinking bottle conditioned beer. You get a good beer and a free bottle for you home brew, but make sure they are brown to protect your beer from light damage.

Can you recommend any bottle conditioned brews there oblivious that would provide a suitable bottle?
Is bottle conditioned necessary for thicker glass or something or would a brown warsteiner bottle do?

I like the Erdinger bottles, generally brown bottle will, I even keep Chimay bottles too. Try to avoid washing up liquid, I some times don’t but detergents are notorious difficult to remove (even when you think there going there not) and could affect the head retention on your beer.

I've used all types of bottles as long as they're brown 500mL/pint non-twist-off caps - everything from Budvar to Guinness.

As for the original question, have a read of the sticky, there are home brew links in there somewhere.
