Have many people played in the Full Tilt capped PLO games?
How does this affect the game?
What strategic changes should you make to your play?

What do you mean by capped? Is there any site with uncapped PLO?

He means that once someone/everyone has X amount of BB's in the pot (or less if they actually are all-in) they are seen to be all-in.

I'd imagine there's very little play on the turn or river especially in Omaha.

There's a max you can lose in one pot. So say you have a tank of 1k, there may be a cap in the game of 200, menaing that you cant finish the next hand with less than 800. Its used in most of the big games in vegas.

Interesting, theyre playing it at the higher levels at the mo - Ben Grundy cleaning up, but doesnt seem to be any interest at the lower levels.

I played it last night in a 1/2 game. The cap was 80, which meant that a pre-flop raise followed by a flop pot-bet and pot-raise usually hit the cap or close to it.

I was talking to cardshark202 about it and he reckoned that you should play a solid shortstack strategy, but I disagree. There's often quite a bit of room for play before you hit the cap, so it's silly to play as if you have very little money in front of you.

I do agree with him that you should push premium hands harder pre-flop as people are much more prepared to play with you, and hands like double-suited queens/kings/aces will probably go up in value.

There's a huge amount of value in this game actually, purely because most of the players don't understand basic pot odds. Implied odds obviously don't come into play as much because of the cap that your opponents can lose, but most people just don't get this, and you find people overplaying draws that they aren't getting the odds to hit all the time.

Basically, draws aren't nearly as valuable as they normally are, and made hands go up in value a huge amount, ie two pair, bottom set etc. I'd agree with cardshark somewhat, my starting hand selection would definitely be a good bit tighter in this than in a normal game, but I wouldn't go into complete rock mode.

Basically play your made hands preflop and post flop extremely strongly, and be very cautious with draws. It's a bit boring and I prefer playing the normal games but there is definitely money to be made at it which is all we're there for after all!

I recently heard Capped PLO described as "a donks wet dream". That's about right.
