Has anyone here done this?
I did and recorded at night for best results. unfortunately when i played it back i picked up nothing.

What was your experience?

He presumed a level on knowledge which is not the worse offence in the world.

EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) is very well known and popular, particially due to the movie "White Noise". For those who dont know what it is I'm sure they could google or ask the Op to explain but I dont think telling him he "shud explain things before you post" is very helpful.

With regards to the OP, a quick search (if search is working) will bring up quite a few threads on the subject and links to sites with what people believe are genuine examples of E.V.P.

well it would make it a lot easier if people knew what he was on about.i know what ur talking about now.never tried it coz i does my own channeling.iv seen white noise thats a good film.id love to know if it works now that i know what hes talking about.

What are "best results" if you didn't pick up anything...?

Easier to hear stuff at Night as sound travels further when there is not alot of "other" sounds like cars that you would get during the day. Hence "Best Results"

I was informed late at night is the best time to record if you want it to be a success. so i should have said something like the following: I recorded at night in the belief i had a better chance of success alas this proved not to be the case. As for not explaining what EVP is, i assumed people posting or viewing a paranormal message board would know what it was. Sorry.

As I recall there was a thread on the subject recently. Somebody got hold of a tape for analysis, and never posted the results.

Were you expecting to pick something up? Where did you make the recording?

There is a woman called Annabella Cordosa(hope I have that right) who is researching EVP. I was at a seminar where she explained the how's and what's of this and it is fascinating. She played some recordings of spirit voices for us. She is doing this full time now such is her belief in it. She used to be Portugese Ambassador and has given that side of life up completely to work with spirit. She says that spirit are experimenting with technology too which sounds quite exciting. At that same seminar we had a tutorial from Prof David Fontana who also supports the EVP theory. If I remeber correctly Anna has a web address where she has links for people to listen to her recordings. I will go back through my files and see if I can find that url if anyone is interested

Ok I think, maybe wrong that this was the tape I got, to explain which I probaly should have done on first thread, was that this tape belonged to someone not involved with borads (although I did give her the web address) and may have felt this tape was a more personal nature to her, so that said I would respect the fact it was up to her to give the go ahead to post the result or join in and post them herself.

I tried it once with my mobile recorder and i played it back and I could hear voices, but I wasn't sure if it was spirits because it could have been 1)the radio on my phone interfering or 2)actual aired telephone conversations.
I don't understand what but I did hear voices.

The likelyhood that what you are hearing is environmental. When doing an evp experiment a controlled environment is required and during recording all enviromental noise should be noted, eg. door bell rang at 6:33 pm, next door car door banged. That way we can decipher what is environmental and what may be spirit. If I remember correctly we were told that Wed 7pm ish is a good time but I would again need to double check that

Ok this might sound like a stupid question but "Why Wednesday and Why 7pm" I am sure it has to do with some astrological aspect but I dont get it.?

EVP can (presuming it exists) be gotten anywhere imo, the same way a ghost or spirit can be seen anywhere - many of my experiences have been in "normal" everyday conditions.

To say there are set times and places to experience activity or record sound is cutting it down. People should have fun with it and be open to it happening at any times in any place.

OP keep trying it and dont limit yourself.

Yes I agree that it seems strange but it was in that woman's experience.
