    Hi,
I am currently working for company but am contracted through an agency. As my contract is up in a few weeks can i get rid of the agency and get company to contract me in directly?(by registering myself as company or whatever). basically is it easy to get rid of agency?

    Cheers

You need to check your current contract for any clause that prohibits you from working for the company for a certain period after your contract with the agency expires.

If you do end up dealing directly with the company you could well p!ss off the agency. That could have its own ramifications.

Technically yes. And I don't think that clauses that Hill Billy refer to are 100% legal. If you asked would it be a good idea to do this, well that would be an entirely different question.

The clause is not binding on you but is binding on the employing company or if a limited company contractor binding on your company.
Actually it is a bit more complicated than that. The clause is valid. However it is not valid on an ordinary individual because the courts regard the right to make a living as obviating freedom of contract.

At any rate just lie. tell them the contract has not been renewed and get the line manager to say the same. Split the differenc in the fee.

These agencies are as common as rats, piss one off and who cares.
Also the recruitment weasels have a shelf life of 6 months.
