What with my/our discussion about the border on my last picture. It was mentioned about the signature and various comments.

Is there a ruling (whether official or not) as to what size or style ie transparancy etc there should be with these??

Not really, I usually never put anything on the pic, as it really does take from it...plus you can't really see a pic if you put a semi translucent one in the middle.

A small type in the bottom right corner of a border can be effective, but even so, it can take from it.

I'd rather sign the mount board when it's been printed, and then, I just use my initials, same as my paintings. You can put the rest of your details on the back then if you want.

When I do it on some jpg's, I normally keep it fairly small but big enough at the same time as to stop thievery... I suppose you have to decide if you want to protect the image with a larger watermark or just display your name with maybe small initials in one corner.

In all honestly its a combo of both - trying to create a more proffessional image and a security thing at the same time.

Thanks for answering the questions guys, you both have been helpful as usual!! :D
