Submitting to newspaper question

    I have a couple of pics I want to submit to the local rag and wandered if anyone has had any experience of this in the past.

    What I want to know is what size/quality the pic has to be etc.

    Any help appreciated.

    To be honest, different papers will have different requirements, so if possible I'd contact them first to see what they want.

    Otherwise, probably best to send a high quality jpg with a reasonable on-screen size (again something subjective maybe 800px on the shortest or longest side).

    Although I havn't done it myself, I'd say the best choice is to just send them the biggest highest quality picture you can. Even if they shrink it to a 200 pixel sidebar, they might want to print it on a double page and every dot counts.

    If you send a big one they can shrink it, if you send a small one they can't blow it up very well.

    Agree 100% with the others......

    I take pictures every week of my sons football team & submit it to the local paper. They have asked me to send them the highest quality ones I can!
