What do you think of Polo necks?

What could you wear with them? Would a vest or a top look ok over one?

Sorry but the idea of a vest over a polo neck sounds a bit vile. Only IMO of course.

What's wrong with just wearing a poloneck-without anything over it? The only thing I would wear over one is a jacket.

Polo neck knits are fine imo and are heavy enough not to need anything over them besides a coat. Thinner ones, I don't like however. Too fake-beatnik-y for meh.

a fine knit polo neck would be nice under a pinafore/a line dress thingy with long boots I think.
