    http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/edit

Just do a search for it if it isn't in the usual place.

Are you using the old Mozilla all-in-one suite (now called SeaMonkey) or Firefox?

    download flash9 beta
    http://www.adobe.com/go/fp9_update_b1_installer_linuxplugin
follow the instructions in the readme

    you may have to delete
    ~/.mozilla/pluginreg.dat
    ~/.mozilla/firefox/pluginreg.dat
and restart firefox, they'll be recreated and updated

make sure to remove any previous version of the flash player aswell

if you're using ubuntu or a derivative, have a look at automatix. It does an automatic (surprise!) install for you. www.getautomatix.com

If you're using a 64-bit distribution this is probably going to be a pain in the ass ;)
