That is the region free version, but they haven't confirmed it yet. Assuming Kensutz is right.;)

Since every activision game so far has been region free, including the last activision title Marvel Ultimate Alliance & Open Season, it would be bizzare if they suddenly decided to implement it on this one title.

It's out here on the 10th. 14th is the American release date as all their games are released on a tuesday...

I ordered from play-asia, not too worried if its region free or not. but I have have seen posts about it been region free but it was a backup of the game they were talking bout. so I presume its the same all round.

Yeah this is the one game I'm not getting from Play-Asia this month, simply because I want it on Friday

I'm trading in Open Season & Full Auto for it anyway


I will get R6 Vegas from play-asia though as all Ubisoft games are region free too.

Gonna save my trades for GoW. Doubt that will be region free. Also the status has changed to "No Region Protection" for COD3 over on play. Now lets just hope they have enough copies to ship mine tomorrow

Really???? What sources are these? Its available in the asia section on play-asia but hasnt gone into region free yet so I didnt think it would be region free

Also COD3 has been moved into the list of region free games on play-asia

Usually I look at the blog in Video Games Plus as a reliable indicator of whether a game is region free or not. Nothing about COD3 yet.

They post up the status of every game close to release date, stating whether it's region free or not.

Latest games:

FIFA 07 - not region free
Need for Speed Carbon: not region free

FEAR - IS region free.

EDIT: Just saw the above post, looks like COD3 is region free. Happy Days!!

Maybe like 99 Nights (N3) the USA version IS regionfree on Pal machines, but the Asian version is region locked.

yes give or take. only the BBFC/IFRB rating is different.

I've traded them in no problems at Gamestop & Smyth Toys before.

That maybe would explain why for 10 minutes earlier today it was listed as region free on their site..

Gears Of War chinese version is the only one which can be region free. Not the Japanese or Asian version.

It's just the same as eM. Some games have the problem too and people have been talking about this GOW issue a lot today.
