Does anyone know how to copy photo's on a PC, resize and paste them onto a word document? The photohgraphs are presently on the PC and I have tried copy and paste and drag and drop to no avail. I have tried using the camera software but I only want to change the copied photo and not the original.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes thanks for asking. :)

You need to put the pictures into a format that word understands. But I'd be surprised if the photos are not Jepg and Word should have no problem with them. You can copy a photo in Windows Explorer, the same as any file. Then use some software like http://www.xnview.com/ to resize them.

Why are you doning this BTW? While you can put photos in word documents the word docs get big very fast and become unreliable. So make the photos as small as you can and don't stick too many in one document.

Make sure you have a backup before you start. The potential for wrecking your original is quite high if you don't know what you are doing.

Are you beyond the steps of 'insert/picture/from file' and choosing it that way? What happens, does it tell you there's something wrong, or does it just not show up?

If you want to make changes and be absolutely sure of not changing your original picture, just literally make a copy of it in windows explorer (I'm assuming it's not a mac, of course) then work on the new one.

If you do manage to get it pasted into word, when you click on the picture and get the image toolbar up, there's a button there for 'compress pictures'. Click on that and you can reduce the filesize of the document - especially if you only want it for on screen reproduction and not for printing, you'll cut it right down.
